Angela Evelyn Bassett, an American actress, is known for her roles in film and on television since the mid 1980s. Bassett is from New York New York. She was raised at Winston-Salem North Carolina. At the age of Bassett was about five She and her sister were moved to St. Petersburg, Florida to live with their mother, who was separated from their father. Bassett was inspired to become an actor after watching the production Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, starring James Earl Jones.
